Our own ‘Victorian’ village in the heart of Royal Deeside, Scotland, Ballater is in the midst of glorious countryside in the Cairngorms National Park, 43 miles (69km) west of Aberdeen & 8 miles (13km) from Balmoral Castle. Ballater’s local attractions include Craigendarroch hill, Loch Muick, Lochnagar and more!
Ballater is Can Do Country is famous for its royal connections. Many of our shops and businesses display the Royal warrants of the Queen and Prince Charles. As parts of Ballater recover from flooding that occurred at the very end of 2015 and early in January 2016, the village is recreating itself with enthusiasm for the future including rebuilding of some shops and several new businesses popping up! Ballater & Royal Deeside are very much open for business as we look forward to the opening of a new Visitor Centre, Library and Station Restaurant in Station Square – all opening later in 2017. The Old Royal Station had been destroyed by a fire in May 2015.
