Joan Anderson is a journalist and storyteller, based near Ballater. She writes feature articles for Highland Games magazines and researches and tells historical stories about Deeside and all its richness of tales going back centuries. Her favourite locations are castles, museums, mountains, woodlands and lost townships in the glens. The stories can be delivered as a talk or as costumed story theatre. She is available for hire by the day or half day and has low-or-no charges for charity events or anything to do with Ballater Victoria Week. She is a life member of the National Union of Journalists and a member of both Grampian Association of Storytellers and the Scottish Storytelling Forum. Joan is happy to help with any practical research requests from anywhere in the world, and delighted to hear family stories originating from Upper Deeside.
