Dr. Sheila Sedgwick, MBE

Dr Sheila Sedgwick is a local historian, archivist, genealogist and author who has written books and articles on aspects of the history and folklore of Royal Deeside. Her work includes: The Story of Ballater, The Curious Years, Departed Glories, and Recalling Glengairn, etc. Dr.Sedgwick may be contacted regarding any search for family history in Royal Deeside.Check the website for more information – the Ballater Local History Group also has its own Facebook page.


30 Oct 2011 News from Scotlands People: The Census Street Lists for the main towns and cities have now been added to the site for all census years. These free-to-view books are an excellent research tool and can be used to locate streets and find which enumeration books cover a particular area. In most instances the registration district is also provided. This is an excellent resource for finding who lived at a particular address without searching on a name.To view the census street lists, please click here.
