The Bothy Ballater is open 7 days a week and provides great customer service, a warm friendly welcome and high quality ingredients in our breakfast, lunch and home baking selections.
We cater for a wide range of dietary requirements and offer these for eating in or for take away. Breakfasts can be traditional Full Scottish, breakfast rolls or Porridge/Granola and lunches include tasty homemade Soups, paninis, sandwiches, toasties and Baked potatoes in addition to our daily homemade specials. On chilly days you can enjoy warming up with great coffee or your choice of tea by our cosy woodstove while you read the papers or benefit from our free wi-fi. You can also browse in our Outdoor store which can be accessed through the Bothy.
We welcome families with children, can be accessed easily on one level for those with mobility difficulties and have water tubs for pets at our outside tables. Unfortunately, The Darroch Learg was destroyed in a fire in February 2015 but reconstruction is in progress and hope to see it back in business as soon as possible.
Awarded three AA rosettes each year since 1997, The Darroch Learg was the first in Scotland to receive the AA’s new “Wine List of the Year”. Unfortunately, The Station Restaurant was destroyed in a fire in May 2015 but it will be rebuilt along with other businesses in Ballater’s Station Square! As of July 2015, we can estimate that all will be restored & reopening in late 2017.
