Bruce of Ballater Antiques – Vintage – Collectables is based on the First Floor of the Old Picture House, 2 Queens Road, Ballater and holds an eclectic mix of antique furniture, ceramics, sculptures, paintings, clocks and vintage collectables of all ages and genres.
The business is run by George Bruce who opened the Antiques – Vintage – Collectables section in January 2019 having run Self Storage Rental on the ground floor since 2007.
The Art Deco building was erected in 1939 as The Regal Cinema Ballater and from 1965 was the furniture store of I.W. Bruce of Ballater House Furnishers.
Formerly the old village shop and post office, complete with old petrol pump and red telephone box, the Butterworth Gallery hosts a permanent display of original artwork by Howard Butterworth and his daughter Mary Louise. In the gallery you will find a surprising mix of traditional and contemporary. The gallery is run by Howard’s eldest daughter Sarah and a warm and friendly welcome always awaits. Situated on the scenic South Deeside Road (B976) this unique family run gallery is an unexpected find in the middle of nowhere!
Larks Gallery is a friendly, contemporary gallery situated 150m from the Station Square in Ballater on the Braemar road with ample on street parking available. The gallery stocks a wide range of contemporary art including ceramics, glass, jewellery and textiles both local and beyond as well as original Scottish paintings, sculpture, ceramics and jewellery. Hours: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10 – 5pm
