Presently, Aberdeenshire Council do offer a range of support and also signposting information for residents of where and how to seek further advice on a range of services and circumstances .

Some links are to government /external sources of information and help and others relate to council services  such as council tax reduction Apply for a Council Tax Reduction – Aberdeenshire Council   and similar as well as grants administered by the council such as crisis grants   Crisis Grants – Aberdeenshire Council  this one though is more acute or urgent situations .

Others such as discretionary housing payments can help where there are shortfalls or gaps in  rent for residents who are in receipt of housing benefit Discretionary Housing Payments – Aberdeenshire Council

Other local sources for general information, benefits checks, financial advice and sources of support can be found from South West Aberdeenshire Citizens Advice Bureau . Bureau advisers are available via phone or email, the bureau also has specific energy advisers. Additionally face to face appointments were ( best check its still current) offered weekly on Thursday mornings at Aboyne for anyone who might wish to speak with an adviser.
