Welcome to Ballater Library
Ballater Library has moved from its former location within the Victoria & Albert Halls to the rebuilt Royal Station just across the road. This has been a three year, multi million pound build and the Library now sits alongside Visit Scotland and the Princes Foundation.

The Library is staffed Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10am – 3pm, and Thursdays 12noon  – 5pm.  The Library can be accessed at any time during the VisitScotland open hours of 9.30am – 5pm Monday – Sunday (10am – 5pm winter hours).

You can browse, borrow, and return books outwith staffed hours using our self-issue machine or the Spydus library app on a smartphone. Customers can also contact the helpline for assistance on 01467 532929 (9am till 5pm, Monday to Friday and 9am till 2pm Saturdays) or by email: ballater.library@aberdeenshire.gov.uk

It is now possible to print from any mobile device, tablet, or laptop from home or in one of our participating libraries. Just print, pay online and pick up your items. You can send your print jobs at any time from any place and what’s more, you no longer have to wait in line at the printer.

You can reserve stock from the entire library catalogue to collect from your local branch.

We offer appointments to anyone requiring assistance with the digital library services or online research.

We offer groups and activities for all ages, and welcome any suggestions.
